Values and vision

The motto of Lord Grey School is “Aspire, Learn, Achieve”. The school considers its core values to be: ambition, encouraging each student to aim high in their aspirations; determination, pushing students to work hard; independence, whereby students are encouraged to guide their own learning; respect, both for themselves and those around them; and success, taking all of these values and working to reach their goals.

As well as these core values, Lord Grey School highly values the inclusivity of its curriculum, accounting for the wide range of different backgrounds and abilities.

Ofsted report

“Literacy is promoted well across the school. Reading is encouraged throughout and literacy skills are developed in many subjects. Year 7 catch-up funding is used effectively to support weak readers and help them to improve their reading skills so that they are able to keep up with their classmates in lessons.”
