We are looking for a Teacher of Boys PE and Computing to join and support our friendly school team at St. Edward’s School in Cheltenham.

About the Position

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Being a role model for students, inspiring them to be actively interested and passionate about PE
  • Assessing, recording, and reporting on the progress/attainment of pupils in line with the relevant GCSE/A-Level curriculum
  • Planning and delivering stimulating and engaging lessons
  • Contributing and participating in formal performance management reviews
  • Attending and participating in staff meetings and INSET days
  • Supporting official school events and the activities and efforts of colleagues
  • Part of this role will involve safeguarding responsibilities including the reporting of any safeguarding concerns to the Designated Safeguarding Team


What are we looking for?

We are looking for someone who has:

  • A specialism in the subject with the ability to teach GCSE and A-Level Qualifications in Sport/PE
  • The ability to support the department’s extensive extra-curricular programme of sporting activities. Expertise in rugby is essential, whilst football, hockey and cricket are desirable. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and dealing with children within an educational context.
  • The ability to work as part of a team but also able to use initiative, flexible and co-operative attitude
  • Efficient and effective deployment of staff and resources
