Job overview

Teacher of Boys PE (TMS) - Full Time – Suitable for Experienced Teachers or NQTs

Clayton Hall Academy, part of the United Endeavour Trust, is a successful school set in beautiful grounds in the suburbs of Newcastle under Lyme. We are a ‘good school’ (Ofsted 2013) with a history of high achievement and a mission to become outstanding.

We have a reputation for excellence in sport that extends far beyond the County. A passion for Rugby or Basketball would be an advantage, and an unwavering commitment to providing extra-curricular opportunities beyond the constraints of the school day is essential.

You will be a highly motivated and inspirational teacher who can encourage, enthuse and engage students across Yrs 7-11, and act as a positive role model.   You will demonstrate creativity in developing rich and exciting lessons across a broad range of sports and disciplines.   We are looking for a colleague who is ambitious and adaptable, with excellent planning and classroom management skills, and will consider NQTs who will be supported to achieve their goals within the department of 4 specialist teachers.  Within the trust we offer excellent CPD and opportunities for career progression.

PE is a very popular curriculum subject in the school and we currently offer GCSE PE and Sports Leadership awards. We are looking to extend this offer to include additional accredited courses such as BTEC Technical Awards. We also have a rich history of providing outdoor educational opportunities for students through our own tailor-made residential experiences.

We offer outstanding sports facilities that include:

o Floodlit AstroTurf pitch

o Netball/tennis courts

o Sports hall with indoor climbing wall

o Extensive camping equipment and mountain bike fleet

o Traditional Gym

o Multiple Outdoor Pitches

o Extensive grounds including woodland with permanent orienteering course

We are proud of our school and our professional staff would be pleased to welcome you on an informal visit.

Closing date: 9am Friday 30th June 2017. Interviews: Thursday 6th July 2017.
