Salary MPS/UPS

We are seeking to appoint an ambitious and inspirational teacher of PE who has a love of sport themselves and wishes to share this with young people. You must have a commitment to enriching the experiences of all our students through excellent teaching and extracurricular activities. You should be someone who participates in sport and physical activity yourself and understands the benefits that sport, and physical activity brings to young people. We are a school which really values the place of sport and physical activity not only in the curriculum, but also in terms of the positive impact it can have on whole school improvement. We have excellent links with local clubs and as a result, our sports facilities are continually being upgraded.

What makes Stamford Welland Academy, and the Trust as a whole, different, is that we know how to nurture and bring out the very best in our talented students and staff. We have an unwavering commitment to educating the whole child and make no excuses for the high expectations that we place on students and staff. It is an exciting time to be joining Stamford Welland Academy as our pupil numbers continue to grow considerably. This growth brings with it substantial investment from Lincolnshire Local Authority and Meridian Trust.

Meridian Trust (formally CMAT) is a success story that continues to grow, and part of our success is down to our ability to recruit, develop and retain the very best teachers. It is also driven by our ability to adapt to the changing educational landscape led by determined staff who bring our academies alive with their enthusiastic personalities, unshakeable work ethic and their commitment to delivering exceptional learning experiences for our children.

We are delighted to announce that following a recent Ofsted inspection in September 2021, the academy has been judged 'Good' in all areas. A copy of the report can be found here .

Closing Date for applications is noon Friday 9th June 2023. Interviews will take place week commencing 13th June 2023. If you would like to visit the school or have any questions about his post, please contact Chris Emmerson (cemmerson@stamfordwellandacdemy.org ), Leader of PE.

Stamford Welland Academy is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

Ofsted report

At our latest Ofsted inspection, we were judged as ‘Good’ in all areas. The report published in September 2021 heaped praise on our leadership team and followed our impressive Key Stage 4 results which were also the best results the school has ever recorded.

The inspectors said: “Leaders have done much to improve the school, including the quality of education. They have set high expectations of pupils’ behaviour and attitudes to learning. They have strengthened relationships with the local community. These improvements have led to more parents wanting to send their children here.

“Pupils study a broad range of subjects. In key stage 4, they are encouraged to study subjects that leaders believe will help pupils in the future. As a result, there has been a large increase in the number of pupils who study languages. Leaders make ambitious decisions about the curriculum which are in the best interests of the pupils. For example, they have changed how pupils study the different subjects in Years 7 and 8 to address previous underachievement at the end of key stage 4.”
