Greenwood Academy is a vibrant, successful 11-18 Academy situated in the heart of Castle Vale. We currently have 950 pupils on roll and are growing every year. We are seeking a dynamic, committed and enthusiastic PE Teacher to work in a thriving PE department. We provide a very diverse and full curriculum, including a wide range of team, racket and athletic activities. You will be responsible for leading fun, engaging lessons which develop leadership and independent opportunities for students while supporting students to reach their full potential in sport. A passion for extra-curricular sport is also essential as the PE department offers a hugely successful extra-curricular programme.

We have a firm and fair approach to behaviour, systematically supported by senior staff; all pupil detentions are centralised and run by senior staff every day. Teachers are therefore able to prioritise the planning and teaching of their subject.
3. Work-life balance
We are committed to reducing teacher workload and making sure that everything we do has a positive impact on pupil learning. This means we have a slimmed-down marking policy, a centralised knowledge focused homework policy, no parents evenings and a minimal assessment, reporting and data entry cycle.
