An exciting opportunity to take your subject knowledge of either sport or law into a new direction, teaching level 3 BTEC Public Services at our outstanding rated college.

Level 3 BTEC Public Services at New College Pontefract is very popular course, covering a diverse range of subjects. Proposed units for 2019 include Government and Protective Services, Citizenship, Fitness Training, Global Current Affairs, introduction to Criminology and Planning and Responding to Emergency Incidents. We are therefore looking for teachers either experienced in teaching public services already, or relevant subjects such as sport and law.

As the Teacher of Public Services, using your subject knowledge you will prepare students for careers within the armed forces, emergency services, Customs and Excise or the Prison Service. The subject is taught both in and out of the classroom. You will actively encourage and support students to partake in volunteering opportunities such as riot training and passive sniffer dog training with the local police force.

The successful candidate will be able to evidence a proven track record of achieving good or outstanding results, though we also welcome applications from NQTs.  Able to demonstrate a genuine enthusiasm for your subject area and the ability to engage, motivate and inspire students of all abilities, you should have a commitment to raising achievement, raising aspirations and going the extra mile.
