We are looking for a well-qualified and enthusiastic teacher of PE to join our highly successful PE department. This post could suit an ECT as well as a more experienced candidate.

The successful candidate will have passion for their subject and a desire to develop this in others. They will show eagerness to advance their own teaching skills and develop professionally as well as being keen to share ideas with their colleagues within this dedicated team. A willingness to contribute more widely to the extra-curricular life of the school is expected.

PE is an extremely popular subject within the school, we currently deliver both GCSE PE and BTEC Sport across KS4. We pride ourselves with 100% 4-9 in GCSE PE and 100% pass rate in Level 2 BTEC sport.

We provide students with a wide range of extra-curricular opportunities and are very proud of our sporting success, winning over 50 District titles every year. We also compete in County Cup competitions.

The successful candidate will be able to communicate their passion for PE to students of all abilities. You will have the desire to make PE the most interesting subject to every student in the school and you will have belief that every student can do well in your classroom. 

The school places high importance on continuing professional development in all areas of school life and as a result ECTs are well supported by the department and the school as a whole.

The Magna Carta School

TMCS is an 11-16 academy in the Unity Schools Trust based in Staines-Upon-Thames, with approximately 1150 students on role. The school is a founder member of The Unity Schools Trust and the 1215 Learning Partnership, determined to enhance lives for young people across this area of Surrey.

The school was graded ‘requires improvement’ in our Ofsted Inspection in June 2022.
