Job overview

Teacher of Physical Education with Business Studies

Fixed-term one year role in the first instance, full time role from September 2023, (with flexibility to suit the right candidate)

(ECTs are very welcome and encouraged to apply)

The vacancy is very suitable for an ECT, and we pride ourselves on our early career support and career development opportunities.

We understand that your start date would be September 2023, however, if you could be on site for the last week or so of the Summer Term, we would pay you over the summer break! Additionally, we would look to start your salary on M2.

If you are at a later stage of your career, we would also value your application, especially if you could bring other skills to the organisation, for example an interest in developing aspects of our invaluable enrichment offer.

We are looking to recruit a Teacher of Physical Education with Business Studies, from 1st September 2023, of the highest calibre, who can inspire and support our students. A strength in delivering rugby and/or football would be an advantage, as well as being prepared to commit fully to our wide range of extra-curricular opportunities. Girls’ engagement in sport is a particular strength at Cleeve, with football a stand-out, national-level success.

This is an exciting opportunity to work across two strong and dynamic departments and we are looking for an out-standing, ambitious and highly motivated individual with a passion for inspiring students to lead a healthy and active lifestyle, whilst teaching Business Studies.

The successful candidate will be, or have the potential to be, an outstanding classroom practitioner, and will teach across our diverse and varied curriculum. Information on both the Cleeve School PE Department and the Business department have been included later on in this pack.

The school is an equal opportunities employer and committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people, and therefore expects all staff and volunteers, to share this same commitment. We particularly welcome applications from under represented groups including ethnicity, gender, transgender, age, disability,

sexual orientation or religion. The successful candidate will be subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check.

Closing date, 9am Monday 12th June 2023

Ofsted

“The overall achievement of students is good, and outstanding for some. It is outstanding for those students who need extra help and in some subjects, including mathematics. Students’ achievement in English and in the sixth form is good and improving.”

“Much teaching in all subjects and in the sixth form is at least good, with a significant proportion that is outstanding.”
