Outwood Grange Academies Trust is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and committed teacher of Performing Arts Drama, to cover maternity leave at Outwood Academy Valley.

This is an exciting opportunity to teach and potentially lead a well-established and one of the most highly successful Creative Arts Teams in the country. The post is covering maternity leave with potential for responsibility within the department. The team currently includes two drama teachers and two music teachers. Within the faculty there are courses running in all subject areas across Y7-13, with outstanding outcomes for students. The successful candidate will be required to have a broad subject knowledge in order to successfully support and manage staff on the delivery of: Pearson BTEC Tech Award in Performing Arts (Acting); and ideally Pearson Tech Award in Music and AS & A2 Edexcel Music Tech.

The teaching timetable attached to this post would include delivery of both KS3 and KS4 Drama. It would be an expectation for a candidate securing a TLR, to fulfil duties as a manager but also lead on enrichment which is well attended in all subject areas. The successful candidate will have a strong commitment to high standards of practice and will understand the importance of outstanding teaching and learning. 

Just 30 minutes from Sheffield and Doncaster, this area of North Nottinghamshire is incredibly scenic with Clumber Park just around the corner and with good links to both the M1 and A1. Outwood Academy Valley is a thriving learning community for both students and staff, with 83% achieving 4+ in English and maths and 65% achieving 5+ in both subjects.  Outwood Academy Valley was judged in its most recent Ofsted inspection to be Outstanding in all categories and we are extremely proud of our students.
