Why us?

The Abbey is a beautiful Tudor mansion within a setting of woods, streams and acres of grassland, but in the heart of the town of Woodbridge. The Abbey is a very special, warm and friendly place with an excellent pastoral care system where all the pupils are valued, encouraged and supported in everything they do. The Abbey offers a broad and exciting curriculum and the aim is that pupils will fulfil their academic potential while also enjoying their studies.

What are we looking for?

This is an exciting time to be joining The Abbey.  We are restructuring the Music and Drama provision and seeking a well-qualified and inspirational teacher of Music or Drama, to help develop a vibrant and dynamic Performing Arts provision at The Abbey and Queen’s House.  In conjunction with the Head of Performing Arts, you will engage all pupils and challenge those with strong Musical/Dramatic abilities.   You will have experience and knowledge of KS1 schooling and music or drama in this context.  You will help ensure all pupils develop a love of music and drama, whilst the most passionate are challenged and given a chance to develop.

Woodbridge School has high expectations of its staff but are rewarded with longer holidays than the maintained sector (term time is only 34 weeks).  All teachers are offered membership of the Teachers’ pension scheme and class sizes are small.  There is ample opportunity to take on extra responsibility for staff who wish to.  Fee remission is also available for staff with children who wish to attend Woodbridge School from pre-prep through to the Senior School.   All staff enjoy free parking and free lunches (in term time).  It is a happy school to work in and Suffolk provides a good quality of life.

Closing date for applications: 9am, Tuesday 21 March 2017

Interviews: Tuesday 28 March 2017

Woodbridge School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and all applicants must be willing to undergo child protection screening appropriate to the position, including checks with past employers and the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).
