Teacher of Personal Development (Maternity Leave)
MPR - 0.6FTE to cover Maternity Leave Fixed Term Contract initially to 28.10.18
A further fixed term contract after 28.10.18 may be available. Working days to 31.08.18 are Monday, Thursday and Friday. These may be varied from 01.09.18.
The Personal Development Department incorporates the subjects of Citizenship, PHSEE, CEIAG and RE. Lessons are well run and students approach their work with enthusiasm and interest. This is a successful department gaining excellent results, the subject is popular with students which was highlighted in our most recent Ofsted report (Sept 2017) 'Personal development and welfare is a strength of the school. Pupils are taught to develop the personal skills and qualities necessary for success in the next stages of their educational journey'.
Applicants need to feel confident facilitiating an active learning, skills based approach to education and be committed to encouraging students to take responsibility for planning, doing and reviewing their own learning. Relevant training will be provided. Schemes of work are in place but there may be flexibility within these to introduce new projects to suit staff members' expertise.
