Part time, 0.12 contract (Tuesdays)

Commencing February 2019 on a fixed term basis until August 2019

We are looking for an outstanding classroom teacher with the ability to teach Photography to KS4. This will be a fantastic opportunity to be a part of a strong and rapidly growing department and to help shape the teaching of GCSE photography at our school. The candidate will need strong subject knowledge in photography in particular, as they will only be teaching KS4 only to start with. A good understanding of how to use Photoshop software and digital SLR cameras is important.

Experience teaching GCSE photography is essential as you will need to have the ability to inspire and develop both staff and students in order to raise standards and maximise potential in this area. You will need to be either an outstanding classroom practitioner already, or an NQT that can demonstrate the potential to become outstanding quickly, with a commitment to continuous professional development.

Bridgwater College Academy is the only all-through mainstream Academy in Somerset and opened in 2012.  Student numbers are divided equally between Primary and Secondary phases; we also have a nursery provision too. The Academy was the first sponsored Academy within the Bridgwater and Taunton College Trust, which now hosts seven Academies and is itself set to continue to expand in the future.
