Job overview

The Trafalgar School at Downton is an oversubscribed, friendly, rural secondary school, set in the historic village of Downton on the edge of the New Forest.

Our PE team currently consists of an experienced Subject Leader, along with two experienced colleagues; this is an additional role to strengthen the team as our school grows. We seek a colleague who will continue to support our students as they develop a love for learning. The successful candidate will be required to teach in a second subject and candidates should indicate the subject/subjects they are able to offer in their application.

We are also recruiting for a Head of House role, which may be of interest to experienced colleagues and carries an additional TLR (2b). A Role Description can be found within the Recruitment Pack. We also welcome applications from candidates who do not wish to apply for this pastoral role.

Candidates should note that The Trafalgar School is part of a Multi Academy Trust, known as the Magna Learning Partnership. This may afford the exciting opportunity to work in more than one school as the need arises. Your interest and readiness for this would be questioned at interview.

We welcome tours before application and if you would like to arrange a visit, please contact Charley Baines headspa@trafalgar.wilts.sch.uk or 01725 550300.

To apply for this position, you should complete the Application Form (attached).

Your supporting statement (which should be no more than 2 sides of A4) should explain your reasons for applying for this position, your relevant qualifications and experience to date and what you can bring to the role of Teacher of PE and/or Head of House and to the school – what difference you would make?

Closing date: Noon, Monday 21st May 2018
