Southern International School, Hat Yai, Thailand (SIH) is looking to recruit a motivated, passionate teacher of Physical Education to also take on the role of PSHE Coordinator.
The post is equally suited to a newly-qualified teacher with or someone with more experience. Please indicate in your application when you would be available to take up the post if appointed.
Any specialism in PSHE, Music, Dance or Drama would be welcomed and should be referred to in your application.
The role will also include the setting up of our PSHE programme, coordinating it across the school and teaching it in the secondary curriculum. This additional role requires either experience or enthusiasm to take on something new and interesting.

Our children are mostly Thai and from other Asian countries with parents who are committed to giving their children an international education. You will be supported in some classes by teaching assistants. We expect to be offering PE as an examination subject at KS4 soon and possibly A level in the future, so a successful candidate should be able to teach to this level, or be prepared to do so after training.
Before you apply, please look at our website www.southerninter.com and Facebook page.
The successful candidate should:
- Hold a first degree plus a post-graduate qualification in education (e.g. PGCE); or a Bachelor’s degree in Education or equivalent.
- UK National or first language English speaker.
- Be confident in the use of technology, both in teaching and in administration.
- Be able to engage, motivate and support children, staff and parents.
- Be a reflective practitioner with the ability to think creatively.
- Be a positive and enthusiastic member of the staff community,
- Be willing to fully involve themselves in the extra-curricular life of the school.
We will contact your referees unless you specify otherwise.
The successful candidate will be joining the school at an exciting period in its development. SIH is currently a candidate school for ISQM, so we would like you help us reach our goal. There are opportunities to develop yourself professionally and personally in a safe, happy, supportive environment. Hat Yai is a wonderful city and this partly explains why so many of our staff stay with us.
Please read the job description and person specification, and look at our website and Facebook pages to get a feel for working in SIH and living in Southern Thailand.
NOTE: We reserve the right to interview and offer to a strong candidate prior to the closing date. It is strongly recommended that candidates submit their applications as soon as possible.
Southern International School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people, and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
