The King John School is a heavily oversubscribed 11-18 mixed comprehensive of 2000+ students, of which 420 are in the sixth form. The school enjoys an excellent reputation, and has been graded at the end of September 2013 as ‘Outstanding’ across all key areas, based on the new Ofsted Criteria.

The King John School PE department is an outstanding performing department which requires a talented, enthusiastic, highly motivated teacher to lead girls’ PE. We achieve excellent examination results at both KS4 and KS5. Extra-curricular sporting activities are a high priority within the boys and girl’s departments with teams regularly competing at a very high standard in local, county and national competitions. This is an amazing opportunity to be part of a continually progressing department.

You will be a good all round PE specialist who can teach athletics to a very high standard, a strong interest in netball and other core sports is also desired.

King John boasts excellent PE facilities, including astro-turf, gymnasium, dance studio, sports hall, swimming pool, state of the art Techno-gym, health centre and open sports fields.

The school enjoys good staff retention and is wholly committed to continued professional development. To this end, all children of appointed teaching staff are eligible to apply for an automatic place at King John School.
