Job overview

We are looking to appoint a full time dynamic and inspiring Teacher of Physical Education for September 2017 start. The candidate must also be able to offer another subject alongside PE.

The vacancy arises due to the expansion of the Physical Education department. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of the GCSE and A-Level PE curriculum and will be qualified to teach core and academic PE across the age range. Emphasis will be given to candidates with experience teaching netball, hockey, rounders, and general fitness.

The department makes full use of outstanding local sporting facilities. Pupils represent the school in netball, hockey, swimming, rounders and cross country running. There is a multitude of extra-curricular sporting activities offered throughout the school day. Popular activities include: bootcamp, running club, tennis club and 7 minute workout. It is an expectation that members of the Physical Education department contribute to before school, lunchtime and after school sporting activities.

More House is an independent Catholic day school for girls aged 11 to 18, founded in 1953 by the Canonesses of St Augustine. In 1971, the School moved to its present home in Knightsbridge, where it is now managed by a lay charitable trust.

Candidates should be aware that all posts in the School involve some degree of responsibility for safeguarding children. This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and, therefore, all convictions, cautions and bind-overs, including those as “spent” must be declared.
