WHSB seeks a dynamic and enthusiastic Teacher of Physical Education. The School welcomes applications from both experienced teachers and graduates looking to train as a teacher.

Sport is an important part of life at WHSB.  We are passionate about sport and valuable role it plays in promoting healthy lifestyles, instilling discipline, fostering effective communication, enhancing leadership qualities and developing character. All of which are fundamental aspects of the School’s ethos. 

The Physical Education Department has produced exceptionally strong examination results at GCSE and Advanced Level during recent years with several of our students going on to study Sport Sciences at the top sporting universities in the country, including Loughborough, Bath and Exeter.

In Summer 2024, 55% of candidates at A Level were awarded A* or A grades. These figures are considerably above the national average. GCSE pupil numbers in Physical Education are consistently high with almost one third of the cohort regularly opting to study the subject
