As one of the leading independent schools in the country, a vibrant sport and physical activity (SPA) offer is central to our vision for a relevant, empowering and holistic 21st century education. We wish to appoint an inspirational and well-qualified specialist Teacher of Physical Education to teach PE and Girls' Games with specific expertise in Lacrosse and/or dance.
To underpin our ambitious SPA strategy, College has recently made a significant investment in its new Health and Fitness Centre (HFC). Fully operational since January 2018, it is already proving transformational in allowing us to deliver exciting new SPA programmes to the girls, and a second phase of refurbishment to be undertaken this summer.
The SPA strategy is pupil-centred. We believe that developing physical literacy is a critical element of holistic education for the girls so we have refreshed our PE curriculum with a focus on physical literacy and life skills. Our provision is beyond a traditional competitive school sport offer, and embraces a much wider range of physical activities within our programmes. Dance, Pilates, exercise classes and ‘Park Run’ style programmes will all be part of our broad SPA offer.
An inspirational, dynamic and motivated teacher would have the opportunity to join us and embrace the SPA strategy.
