From September 2019 we are seeking to appoint a Teacher of Physics to join this successful and oversubscribed 11-18 school.
In 2018, 80% of GCSE Physics grades were 9 – 7; while at A level 54% of our 37 A level Physics students achieved a grade A* - B. In the last few years, students have excelled out of the classroom, working in partnership with local businesses to explore the edge of space and the bottom of the deepest lake in the Lake District; we are returning to space later this academic year.
The Science department is extremely well resourced, with well-equipped laboratories, IT facilities and technical support staff. We require someone who can inspire, motivate and challenge all students; both in and out of the classroom.
Cockermouth School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare and well-being of students, engages with young people and staff on policy and practice developments, proactively encourages feedback and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
Cockermouth School is a Safeguarding School. The successful applicant will be subject to appropriate checks and undertake an enhanced DBS and where appropriate to the post, a requirement to complete a Childcare Disqualification declaration.
