An excellent opportunity has arisen at this highly successful Catholic Sixth Form College located in the Universities area of Leeds. The College is rated as ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted, is established in the top 15% of all sixth form colleges for value added and is always oversubscribed.

Physics at Notre Dame Catholic Sixth Form College

The College is seeking to appoint a well-qualified, high performing and enthusiastic individual to the full-time post of Teacher of Physics who can offer A level Physics. Currently 180 students are studying A level Physics and the College has seen numbers continue to grow. At Notre Dame there are four Science departments each with a Head of Department across Physics, Applied Science BTEC Level 3 and Level 2, Biology and Chemistry. From September 2021 the College will also have a new T Level in Health to complement the existing and growing provision of T Levels. The T Level Health is under the new T Level Health & Science route, with a number of units dedicated to Science. Science and Health & Social Care at Notre Dame Catholic Sixth Form College is extremely high performing with a track record of achieving Outstanding ALPs value added for the last three years.

There is a mutually supportive, friendly and professional atmosphere within each Science department and a strong emphasis on enabling all students to realise their potential. All the departments are lively, dynamic and progressive in terms of their approach. There is a wealth of experience and professional knowledge and an encouragement to undertake CPD.

They share resources and support each other professionally. Staff from the Physics, Chemistry and Biology departments contribute to the teaching of Applied Science and T Level Health.

All Science classes are taught in very pleasant, well-resourced specialist laboratories with excellent technician support.
