Job overview

Welcome to the A’Soud Global International School and the opportunity to live in the jewel of the Arabian Gulf, Oman.

A’Soud Global School – Muscat (AGS) was founded in 2016 and has become a cornerstone of a British style of education in Muscat since. Initially serving families of Primary aged children AGS has now grown into a through school delivering high quality education from 3 year olds to students taking A ‘Levels and leaving to attend top universities in the UK and globally. Our mainly British staff deliver a child centered curriculum based on the Cambridge International Curriculum supplemented with local Ministry mandated subjects such as Arabic language lessons.

We are located near to Muscat International Airport on the west side of the city in the district of Seeb. We serve many expat families living and working in this side of the city and local Omani families. Studying and playing together as one community brings opportunity for our international families to interact with and learn more about the Omani culture and our Omani families enjoy the interaction and opportunity to learn from friends from all over the globe.

At AGS the focus is achieving your best and striving to improve. We have students who reached the highest grades in the Cambridge examination series in Oman and regularly students achieve Grade 9 scores (A**) or A* in IGCSE. However academic achievement is only one measure of success. We offer the Duke of Edinburgh International Award to students to test their personal limits and develop their leadership skills and regular attendance at Model United Nations events is also encouraged. However, our school facilities ensure in whatever subject or activity excellence can be attained. Our Drama and Music departments produce high quality shows each year for parents, our PE department ensures our sporting teams bring home trophies from inter school competitions and our art department produce stunning art exhibitions every year. We are a vibrant school where the needs of the students are focused on, and they are supported to take the necessary steps to enjoy success.

Being a teacher in our school is more than just being a part of a team. Teachers are encouraged to develop the curriculum and enhance activities available to students. We are still very much a growing school and flexible to new ideas and technologies. We are a positive team enjoying the successes from our students’ achievements.

Oman is a very easy country to live in as an expat teacher. Muscat is a vibrant and yet traditional city with a rich history. This has enabled modern growth with an understanding of the importance to retain cultural character. It boasts modern shopping centres with local and western/international brands and even real snow! The Opera House delivers a wide range of performance during the year and the fine dining and entertainment to be found in the many high-end hotels offer high standards of living. At the same time the geography of the country offers breathtaking adventure in the mountains and under the sea. The Omani people are a very proud nation and delight in sharing their country with visitors. Unlike some Gulf countries, you will meet the locals everyday as they are very much involved at all job levels. AGS proudly employs many Omani staff in a variety of job roles and as one team we work together for the success of the school. Oman is also considered one of the safest countries in the world for visitors and you will be a part of this whilst living here. Staff accommodation offered by school is to a western standard and is in a community development. Many staff call this home as do many families from a range of countries.
