Akeley Wood is an independent co-educational day school for some nine hundred pupils between the ages of two years nine months and eighteen. It occupies three independent sites near Milton Keynes in Buckinghamshire and each of the schools is organised to meet the changing needs of the independent age groups. Teaching is in classes of about twenty (though examination groups are often much smaller). Although all three schools have their own location they all share our very special family atmosphere.

Lower (ages 9 and 10)
The Lower School provides a bridge between the Junior and Senior Schools, with specialist teachers in such subjects as Science, French, Music and Physical Education.

Curriculum follows on smoothly from the Junior School, with a continuing emphasis on the basic skills
Introductory course in Latin is offered to the more able pupils
Preparation for the Senior School and, if appropriate, for the Buckinghamshire eleven plus selection
