Job overview

An opportunity has arisen within the Science department at Shaftesbury School. We are seeking an inspirational and motivated Physics teacher who can contribute to our thriving and forward thinking school. Off the back of our best ever GCSE and A-level results, we are looking for an established teacher or NQT who is passionate about their subject, and will lead their pupils to further success and achievements. The ideal candidate will have a degree in Physics but candidates with engineering or maths degrees and a good knowledge of the physics curriculum across the key stages may also be considered.

Shaftesbury School is a thriving 11-18 secondary school with an international state boarding facility, established in an area of outstanding natural beauty. We have recently been judged as Good in all areas by Ofsted and are aspiring to achieving an outstanding grading in the future. We are committed to getting the best for our pupils, both academically and pastorally. Our moto, aspiration, action and achievement, inspires and is expected of both pupils and staff alike.

The school is part of Southern Academy Trust, a multi academy trust that embraces its responsibility for the education of a generation. We have a supportive and collaborative network of staff across our schools who believe in working together to get the best for all our pupils.

Relocation expenses are available so please come and visit the area to see what a beautiful part of the country this is to live and work in. Southern Academy Trust will provide the successful candidate with a variety of staff benefits including CPD opportunities and support. The start date for this post is September 2018. Interviews will take place on Tuesday 24th April.

If you would like to become part of our community, think you can make a difference to the pupils in our school or wish to find out more information about this position, please contact the Principal, Tim Farrerr on 01747 854498 or by email timothy.farrer@shaftesburyschool.co.uk so we can arrange to show you around our school.
