FULL TIME TEACHER OF GCSE PHYSICS FROM APRIL - JULY 2023

King’s Bruton is an HMC co-educational boarding and day school of 380 pupils aged 13-18.

An inspirational and suitably-qualified teacher of Physics is required to join this very successful department from April to July 2023. The successful applicant will be a motivated and qualified teacher with either a specialist Physics or Science degree.

As KS4 Physics forms part of the core curriculum, where pupils study IGCSE Physics as part of the Triple, Double or Single Science routes. Physics is a popular A Level option and pupils benefit from excellent facilities and a fantastic programme of enrichment to further enhance and support teaching. The Physics department is dynamic, well-resourced and benefits from technician support.

The role would suit a recently qualified teacher, NQT or someone with more classroom experience who would enjoy the challenge of joining a dynamic and successful department. The role would involve teaching KS4 Physics, with the option to teach A Level for the right candidate. The successful applicant will be a creative and passionate teacher who enjoys helping pupils of all abilities succeed.

King’s Bruton is a mixed independent school with sixth form in the Somerset town of Bruton. Students attend the school from the ages of 13 to 18, with the option to board throughout their school careers. There are approximately 370 students on roll. The Somerset school operates in partnership with Hazlegrove Preparatory School, in nearby Sparkford.

King’s Bruton was founded as a boys' school in 1519, admitting girls in the late 1960s before becoming fully co-educational in 1997.
