The position

St. Lawrence College, Athens, Greece is currently seeking to recruit a suitably qualified and experienced teacher of Physics to join our Physics department in the senior school. 

Brief Job Description

The successful applicant will be responsible for the teaching of Physics to pupils in Key Stage 4 (IGCSE) and Key Stage 5 (AS/A-Level). He or she will work closely with the current Head of Department in all areas of the planning and delivery of Physics, including strengthening the schemes of work, creating and sourcing teaching aids, developing and implementing assessment tasks, and engaging all pupils in the attainment of Physics skills.

St. Lawrence College places great importance on the excellence of the delivery of pastoral care and on the provision of extracurricular activities for all pupils. The successful applicant will be expected to contribute to these vital spheres of British education fully and with enthusiasm. 

Brief Person Specification

In addition to appropriate teaching qualifications and, preferably, experience teaching Physics in a British school either in the UK or overseas, the successful applicant will possess outstanding subject knowledge, excellent communication skills and the stamina to realise the continual improvement of the teaching of this very important and popular subject. 

The successful applicant will be available to work from Monday 29th August 2022 and may be employed during the current school year if available.

Remuneration

Our new teacher of Physics will receive a competitive salary by standards of British education in Greece plus Christmas, Easter and summer bonuses and other benefits. The successful applicant will work alongside friendly and supportive colleagues across our 20-acre school campus set in the stunning natural surroundings of the suburbs in southern Athens. A relocation package is available to new colleagues recruited from outside Greece.
