Deliver quality education to assigned pupils and contribute, within collegiate ethos, to the professional life of the school in relation to pupils, staff and appropriate external bodies within the agreements of the Local Negotiating Committee for Teachers and the Scottish Negotiating Committee for Teachers.

There is a responsibility for the post holder to demonstrate a commitment to quality service delivery through continuous improvement for the benefit of the Service and the organisation.

Relocating to such an outstanding location for the next exciting stage of your career is easier than you might think. You will receive an upfront payment of £5k settling in allowance as part of an overall relocation package of up to £8k (subject to criteria).

Salary for this post will be in accordance with SNCT agreements. Applicants must be or eligible to be fully GTC Scotland registered.

This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check.  Where applicable, this post also requires an Overseas Criminal Record Check.  A confirmed offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.

Hill of Banchory Primary School is situated on Royal Deeside, eighteen miles west of Aberdeen. It is a new community primary school which opened on February 24th 2006. It is the second primary school serving the small commuter town of Banchory (population approximately 8,000), which has grown considerably during the past thirty years as a result of North Sea Oil development.


The school is situated on the East side of Banchory and is at the heart of the new Hill of Banchory housing development.


The school building has 12 classrooms along with a Library area, Information Technology suite, Music and Art room, 4 Support for Learning rooms, Snoozelan and a parent room. A 2-class Nursery consists of 2 nursery rooms, cloakroom and staff/parent room.


There is a large enclosed outside play area where the children can play safely on bicycles and other mobile toys. Other facilities include an impressive games hall, dining area with cafeteria and an extensive playground, adventure play area and an all-weather astroturf pitch.
