Are you passionate about teaching Product Design and making a difference to young people’s lives? Looking for an “Outstanding” innovative and forward thinking school which genuinely challenges, develops and invests in you? Then come and meet us at Swavesey Village College
We are looking for an enthusiastic and talented Product Design Teacher to join our team in September 2019. This is an exciting position for a dynamic and hardworking individual to contribute to the outstanding education provided to all our students and contribute to their excellent achievement. We are an Ofsted Outstanding rated school with our own Teaching School status. Swavesey achieved ‘Outstanding’ in every category in its latest Ofsted report in March 2011. The successful candidate will join an ‘Outstanding school where there is absolutely no complacency’ (Ofsted 2011).
You will be expected to work with the Design and Enterprise team to design and deliver innovative and inspiring lessons across KS3 and KS4. The department moved into a new building in 2015 which benefits from a large workshop area, CAD/CAM equipment, 3 D laser cutter, ICT suites, engineering area, and a graphics/teaching room. We pride ourselves on delivering exciting and interesting projects which are then displayed in our successful summer exhibition.
The successful candidate must be able to teach Product Design and the ability to teach Engineering and Construction at GCSE and BTEC would be advantageous. Staff are friendly and supportive and committed to ensuring all students achieve their potential. The successful candidate should be an outstanding teacher.
