We are seeking to appoint a permanent, part time teacher of PSHE to teach in this selective Grammar School for Boys.  

  • This is a new, permanent, part-time appointment, effective from 1st September 2018 for 0.40-0.60fte (2 or 3 days per week) with a salary payable on the main professional (M1-M6) or upper (UPS1-3) pay scales.
  • The successful applicant will be required to teach Personal, Social & Health Education to classes in Years 7-11 and may be asked to contribute to the programme in Years 12 & 13. In addition you will be required to share a tutor group with another colleague delivering their fortnightly form tutor period.  
  • The successful candidate will work closely with the Assistant Head Teacher who has cluster responsibility for Personal, Social & Health Education in the development, delivery & evaluation of the curriculum.  
  • We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and committed and reflective teacher of Personal, Social & Health Education with clear ideas on how the subject should be delivered. The successful applicant will have experience of teaching in the subject to boys aged 11-16 although experience of teaching in a selective school environment is not required.

King Edward VI Aston School is an academy school for boys based in Birmingham for students aged 11-18. It is a Christian school.

A selective grammar school for boys and one of the twelve schools of King Edward VI in Birmingham.  It has been part of the Aston community since 1883 and has strong links with many local schools and organisations primarily through the work of its Sports Partnership.
