The College is seeking to appoint a qualified, enthusiastic and energetic teacher who has excellent subject knowledge as a permanent, part-time Teacher of Psychology (FTE 0.33 to 0.61). The successful candidate will be responsible to the Head of Psychology.
The Psychology Department is one of the largest departments in the College with well over 350 students following the subject to A level. It is situated in a designated teaching area with IT facilities and has success rates well above the national average. The Department is graded as outstanding. The Department follows the Edexcel syllabus.
The Department is very supportive, both to staff and students who are encouraged to undertake work within the Department if they wish to further their studies or need extra support. This post is suitable both for experienced teachers and those beginning their career in the profession. Above all, we are seeking someone with an excellent knowledge of Psychology and the ability to make the subject come alive for our students. We also want to appoint a good team player who will be skilful at motivating and encouraging colleagues to try out new approaches and resources. The person appointed must be confident in the use of Information Technology in all aspects of their work
The post is available from 1st September 2018 and the part-time fraction is between 33.33% (7 periods per week) and 61.90% (13 periods per week). The full-time equivalent salary is up to £39,695 per annum (Point PSP3 including Reigate College Allowance and the Professional Standards payment where applicable).
