Due to the popularity and phenomenal success of Psychology at GCSE and A level, we are seeking a highly qualified and ambitious graduate to inspire our amazingly talented young people to realise their dreams as a Teacher of Psychology in one of the country’s leading state schools. Rated Outstanding in all areas by Ofsted in 2012 and 2018, Brampton Manor Academy is a dynamic school that is proud of what it has achieved but is not complacent about the challenges that lie ahead; we are constantly seeking ways to further improve the quality of education on offer to the young people in our care, knowing the transformative impact it can have on their life chances. The Psychology department is nationally renowned for its academic success, consistently achieving amongst the best GCSE and A Level results in the country. At both GCSE and A Level in 2019 value added was in the top 1% nationally with more than 75% of students achieving an A* or A grade at A Level.
Psychology is a very popular subject choice at both GCSE and A Level, where the AQA specification is delivered by a dedicated team of four specialist teachers, all of whom are themselves high quality Psychology graduates. The department prides itself on the professional development of its staff, who benefit from the support of experienced and passionate colleagues with a track record of delivering impressive outcomes for students.
Students enjoy participating in a range of extra-curricular opportunities outside of the classroom; we regularly have guest lectures in clinical Psychology and our students attend evening lectures at local universities. Of the more than 100 students who studied Psychology at A Level last year a large number have gone on to study the subject at elite universities, including Cambridge.

Brampton Manor Academy is a highly successful 11-18 mixed school and we serve a rich and culturally diverse community in East Ham, close to London City Airport and the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park situated in Stratford.
Ranked as one of the top schools in the country for pupil progress at both GCSE and A Level and rated ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted in all categories in both 2012 and 2018, our students recently featured in the national media as a result of 51 of them securing conditional offers to study at Oxford or Cambridge. Brampton Manor converted to Academy status in April 2011 and formed a multi-academy trust called Brampton Manor Trust in 2013. In January 2014, Brampton Manor sponsored another local school, Langdon Academy (a 3-16 school), who joined our Trust in January 2014. There is strong collaborative working between our schools.
