This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified Public Services Teacher/Practitioner to join an established and successful Sports and Public Services department. You will be experienced practically and academically.

The successful applicant will deliver learning to groups of students, lead workshops and practical sessions for L3 Btec Units. Experience at Levels 3 Public Services delivery is essential. You will therefore need a solid knowledge base to deliver on subject areas such as:

Government, Policies and the Public Services

Leadership and Teamwork in the Public Services

Citizenship, Diversity, and the Public Services

Understanding Discipline in the Uniformed Public Services

Introduction to Criminology/Criminal Investigation Procedures & Practice

Understand the Impact of War, Conflict and Terrorism on Public Services

Crime and it’s Effects on Society

Responding to Emergency Service Incidents

You will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced teachers, to observe and share best practice on a regular basis, developing pedagogy through reflection. You will be able to build positive relationships with young people and support them to achieve their long term career goals.  You will be able to use your expertise and emotional intelligence to unlock barriers to your students’ progress and provide the tools, support and challenge the need to go forwards. An understanding of Safeguarding including Prevent and Keeping Children Safe in Education legislation will also be required.

 JOB REQUIREMENTS:

QTS (Qualified Teacher Status).

Experienced industry based individuals will be considered and given the opportunity to secure a role leading to the completion of a recognised post-16 teaching qualification.

Honours Degree. (Ideally within the subject area you wish to teach)

This role is considered exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and the amendments to the Exceptions Order 1975, 2013 and 2020. It’s a really exciting time to join USP College...

The college was formed in 2017 as a result of a merger between Palmers College (Grays) and Seevic College (Benfleet) and the last 12 months has been a period of very positive change, growth and investment. 

We now provide career-focused learning to around 4,000 students across the Seevic and Palmers Campuses, helping each of them develop the real skills needed by businesses as well as achieving their formal qualifications.
