Teacher of RE

King's Academy BinfieldBracknell Forest

A fantastic opportunity is awaiting you; the chance to design and shape innovative and creative pedagogical practice in a brand new all-through academy.

King’s Academy Binfield (KAB) is now looking to appoint a highly motivated, dynamic and innovative teacher of Religious Education to play an intrinsic role in our new all-through academy in Bracknell Forest.

Our all-through school opened in a superb new building in September 2018 with 120 year 7 students, and we have grown year on year, with 150 students currently in year 8 and 180 in year 7, and nursery through to year 3 students in our two primary phases, KAB and King’s Academy Oakwood (KAO). The academy will grow year on year to a roll of over 1800 students, aged 3-18.

The Humanities department has a positive presence in the school community, with a small but rapidly growing, committed team of teachers. The faculty continues to progress, including the exciting task of creating a broad and challenging RE curriculum for our students. Staff development is seen as a crucial aspect of this, with subject specific CPD being offered, including NATRE membership.

Religious Education forms a key part of students’ education with KS4 students opting for GCSE Religious Studies and/or continuing core RE. As the department continues to grow, there will likely be opportunities for curriculum leadership, with the possibility of advancing this to September 2021 for the right candidate. It will also be the case that there will be other opportunities for leadership roles within the academy as the school expands. Potential is as important as experience.

Applicants should be excellent classroom teachers and have the ability to motivate, inspire and lead students to excel, with experience of producing successful outcomes at GCSE being beneficial. The successful candidate will be a team player and will get stuck in and involve themselves in the wider aspects of academy life. A genuine commitment to our ‘whatever it takes’ ethos is essential to enable every young person at KAB and KAO to thrive.

KAB and KAO are part of the King’s Group Academies MAT, led by a team of former and current Ofsted ‘outstanding’ head teachers and Her Majesty’s Inspectors (HMI). Please note link to King’s Group Academies Vision and Mission - https://kingsacademies.uk/about-us/vision-and-mission/

King’s Academy Binfield and King’s Academy Oakwood are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young students and expects all staff to share this commitment. The successful applicant will need to undertake an Enhanced DBS check.
