We are looking for a dedicated, dynamic and imaginative teacher who is passionate about teaching RE from Key Stage 3 to A-level. This is a temporary post to cover maternity leave.

We are an 11-18 comprehensive school with 1300 students, 150 in the Sixth Form that serves the market town of Crediton and surrounding villages. We are situated in the rolling Devon countryside yet within a 20-minute drive of Devon’s thriving capital city of Exeter.

About Queen Elizabeth's School

Queen Elizabeth’s is a mixed, mainstream, non-denominational, secondary day and boarding school in Crediton, Devon. The school caters to students aged 11 to 18 and has approximately 1,400 pupils enrolled.

Queen Elizabeth’s converted to academy status in April 2011. The school started as a grammar school, then became a boarding grammar for boys and girls, and is now the only state boarding school in Devon. It is part of the Teaching School Alliance.

Vision and values

Queen Elizabeth’s main aim is to empower students to enjoy the art of learning. It strives to create a community of smart, educated and successful young people who will be global citizens in a 21st-century world. Teachers believe education and hard work are integral to success and their two principles are "education to empower" and "always progressing".

The curriculum emphasises the core subjects of English, maths, science, PE, RE and personal development, as well as the humanities. Extra-curricular activities are encouraged, especially the expressive arts, technology and sports. The school’s outdoor programme includes Ten Tors and the Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme.
