Job overview

The Governors are seeking to appoint a well-qualified, motivated and inspiring teacher of Religious Education (KS3-5) and Philosophy and Ethics (KS5) on a permanent full time basis from either January 2023 or as soon as possible.

Candidates need to be willing to support the Catholic ethos of the school and be willing to develop an understanding of teaching Religious Education in a Catholic setting; however do not need to be Catholic themselves.

 

We are looking for a candidate with the following qualities to join our highly successful Humanities and Religious Education departments:

 

• Qualified Teacher Status;

• A passion for excellence in the teaching of Politics and Religious Education;

• The ability to motivate and inspire students to achieve excellent results;

• Excellent organisational and communication skills;

• The capacity to work collaboratively as part of a team;

• Excellent interpersonal skills;

• The attributes to be a strong form tutor;

• To be committed to the safeguarding and welfare of all pupils.

 

The post would suit an NQT or an experienced teacher looking for a new challenge. A level teaching experience is highly desirable.

About St Alban's Catholic High School

St Alban’s Catholic High School is a co-educational secondary school and sixth form with academy status located in Ipswich, Suffolk. It is the only Catholic High School in the Ipswich area and religious education forms part of the core curriculum. 

The School premises have been improved in recent years with the addition of a new sixth form block and library and the refurbishment of some existing facilities.
