We require an enthusiastic and committed teacher of Religious Education for a part time maternity cover position commencing Easter 2020. This post may be of interest to an experienced colleague or a newly qualified teacher who wishes to join a thriving and successful school.
The RE department seeks to nurture, develop and enable students’ ability to critically explore a range of belief systems, moral issues and British values in a safe environment which demands respect from and for all.
RE at Fernwood is compulsory through to GCSE. Students are taught in tutor groups at KS3 and cover the identity of Jesus, Sikh religious practices, Hindu beliefs on life after death, Old Testament Christianity, Muslim practices and a non faith based topic of why people believe in God at all. At GCSE students study Christianity and Islam and sit the Edexcel B papers.
