The successful candidate will be required to teach at both sites. We have a vacancy for a confident, enthusiastic, suitably qualified applicant for the post of teacher – Religious Education, to join a successful department from September 2019.

• be familiar with the requirements of Sheffield SACRE for Key Stage 3 and the GCSE curriculum

• be a skilled ICT practitioner

• be willing to contribute to the wider life of the School

• have effective interpersonal skills with the ability to inspire students and staff

At King Edward VII School we pursue an academically challenging and inclusive ethos and the study of Religion and Philosophy at all key stages contributes to this outcome. The department consists of three specialist staff and fully supports the local NATRE network who meet termly as part of the Sheffield Learning Hub. The post will involve ensuring the quality of academic spiritual, moral, social and cultural (SMSC) provision in terms of curriculum delivery, assessment and achievement for both subjects.

King Edward VII School is a mainstream, state-community, co-educational, non-denominational, secondary school for children aged 11-18. It is situated in Sheffield, South Yorkshire and it has over 1700 pupils on its roll, including over 600 in Sixth Form.

This includes rapid improvement to the quality of teaching and students’ achievement. Students have positive and mature attitudes to learning. They are eager to give of their best. Students say they feel safe in school and behaviour is good; inspection findings confirm this. The vast majority are proud of their school. Attendance has improved and is now above average.
