What we're looking for
If you are energetic, enthusiastic and love teaching children then we’d be delighted to hear from you. We are always happy to meet potential applicants prior to interview; please don’t hesitate to contact us if you would like any further information or to visit the school
Situated in Surrey, Salesian School is 5 minutes walk from Chertsey Station and only 25 minutes from Clapham Junction station. It is located 5 minutes drive from M25 and M3 and offers free parking.
A thriving and active school with a long and well-established reputation, we are a Catholic co-educational comprehensive school meeting the needs of children of all abilities from 11-18 years. We teach over 1400 students, including around 300 in our Sixth Form, which is on a separate site.
Salesian was designated as a Teaching School in September 2014 in recognition of our track record of success in training teachers and supporting schools in difficulty. The Teaching School offers a range of exciting opportunities for staff to engage in professional development and school-to-school support activities and from 2015 we have been operating as a SCITT accrediting our own trainee teachers.
Our last Ofsted Inspection was in September of 2013 when we were judged to be “outstanding” in all categories. We were obviously delighted with this recognition and are all very proud of our achievements which are a great tribute to the staff and students who have worked so hard to enable us to reach this point.
We are also proud to be part of the Xavier Catholic Education Trust. This further strengthens our ability to support our colleagues via shared resources and joint training across the schools, and provides even greater opportunity for progression
Candidates are encouraged to contact the school to find out more information about specific departments or pay us a visit.
