A well-qualified, inspiring and dynamic graduate is required to teach Religious Studies and Philosophy. The department has a considerable presence with over 40 girls studying either A Level Religious Studies (Religion, Philosophy and Ethics) or IB Philosophy in the Sixth Form and over 100 girls currently studying GCSE Religious Studies. Results at all levels are strong with many girls gaining offers at leading universities.
The successful applicant will need to be able to teach Religious Studies and Philosophy across the entire range up to and including A Level and Oxbridge. Experience of teaching IB Philosophy would be an advantage, although training is provided where required.
They will join a team of six dedicated professionals in a well-resourced department. Full support with induction and continuing professional development is provided. There is a real emphasis on collaboration and regular meetings to share pedagogical ideas and teaching resources and a focus on developing the girls’ resilience and independence.
All teachers are expected to contribute to the rich co-curricular life of the College, but there are no residential duties.
