Teacher of Religious Studies
Salary: MPS/UPS (£22,917-£33,284)
Contract: Full time (Permanent)
Required for: September 2018
Are you an ambitious teacher of RS looking to join a dynamic and supportive department? If so, we want to hear from you.
RS is a highly valued subject at Kennet with the majority of pupils studying full course at GCSE. The results for this large cohort have remained consistently high and we are proud of the team’s achievements. The department also offers Philosophy at Sixth Form and some experience delivering this subject would be advantageous but not essential.
The school would provide excellent support to an NQT starting out in their career, or development opportunities for a more experienced colleague. We invest heavily in CPD, over 4 times the national average, and actively seek to develop our teachers through all stages in their careers.
Kennet is a highly oversubscribed and successful Academy: we were judged Outstanding by Ofsted in May 2016. Whilst our progress measures are impressive and we have accumulated a number of national awards, we are strong believers that ‘better never stops’.
We seek to recruit talented and dynamic teaching professionals who are:
· aspirational and keen to develop,
· passionate about education and their subject,
· committed to working as part of a team,
· willing to think creatively and take risks in the classroom,
· hard-working and well organised.
The school’s successes are well documented, but we believe that it is most impressive when seen in action. We welcome enquiries and visits prior to application, so please get in touch with Chris Ellison, Deputy Headteacher for more information (firstname.lastname@example.org).
The school has a strong house system and we seek staff who are keen to contribute to the fuller life of the school. Further details about the school and this post are available on the school website: www.kennetschool.co.uk
Kennet School is committed to safeguarding children and expects all staff to share in that commitment; successful candidates will be subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check.
Closing date: 9am on 18 April 2018. Early applications are encouraged and we may choose to interview prior to the closing date.
