We are seeking a committed and motivated Teacher of RS for a maternity cover position starting after Easter 2023.


You will be working in a forward looking and supportive School with successful and committed staff. Darrick Wood is an oversubscribed and successful 11-18 ten form entry mixed comprehensive academy, housed in modern buildings on an attractive site. The School consistently achieves excellent results and was judged to be ‘good’ in all areas in its OFSTED inspection in January 2019. The School was awarded the World Class Schools Quality Mark in 2015 and again in 2018 and 2021. The School provides excellent opportunities for career development and a full support programme for all new staff. All staff have access to sports facilities and a private employee assistance programme.

Darrick Wood School is a mainstream, co-educational, non-denominational secondary academy for 1700 children aged 11-18. It is situated in Orpington, Kent. In its most recent inspection by Ofsted (January 2019) the School was judged as “Good” in all areas.

The school was founded in 1975. In June 2004, it was awarded specialist status in technology. In 2010, Darrick Wood converted to academy status and a new Sixth-Form building was completed.

In 2015, the secondary school was awarded the World Class Schools quality mark.
