The de Ferrers Academy has gained a reputation for high levels of academic achievement, demonstrated by the fact that the 2016 results at GCSE and A-level are the best on record. We have a positive ethos and excellent staff/student relationships, we value our staff and are committed to their personal and professional development. In recent years, the Academy has developed a national reputation for innovation and success in Learning technologies and ICT. The Academy is an Apple Regional Training Centre, with 1:1 use of iPads for all Key Stage 4 and 5 students. 

As a Faculty, the CRESS team are committed to the continuing use and development of new technologies to create a relevant and engaging curriculum. All our Key Stage 4 and 5 courses make full use of all digital resources available in the delivery of lessons and feedback, such as iTunesU Google Classroom and Showbie. We are committed to preparing our young people for their roles as active citizens and are developing ways of utilising the student voice fully, to help us gauge our successes and effectively plan our priorities for development. We will continue to develop and enhance our curriculum as well as our wider Academy activities, in order to achieve this goal.

We are situated on the rural outskirts of Burton upon Trent, within easy access of Birmingham, Nottingham and Derby.
