Job overview

We are looking for a committed and talented individual to join us as a teacher of religious studies.

Caldicot is an 11-18 co-educational school with over 1300 students based in Monmouthshire. The school is ideally situated between Chepstow and Newport, providing ease of access via the M4 corridor and on the northern side of the Severn Estuary. In 2017, Caldicot moved into a new £36m purpose-built site and now boast some of the finest educational facilities in the country. However, Caldicot is more than just an amazing building. Visitors frequently comment on how friendly, approachable and, on the whole, how eager our students are to achieve their best during their time at school. Similarly, the school is blessed to have a dedicated team of staff who are fully committed to supporting students to achieve their fullest potential.

In June 2019, Caldicot and The Bishop of Llandaff CiW High School in Cardiff entered a partnership which sees a shared executive leadership model. The Executive Headteacher is responsible for providing strategic leadership for both schools. He is based at Caldicot for three-days per week to provide support and guidance to the leaders, staff and governors. A new Head of School joined the school last November joining a newly formed leadership team. During the autumn term, the school has undertaken a staffing restructure and recent review of the school curriculum. These will commence in September 2020.

Should you wish to find out more or pay the school a visit, then please contact Mary Lawrence, PA to Executive Headteacher/Head of School. Similarly, if you would like an informal discussion with the Executive Headteacher then please contact in the same way and this can be arranged.

The closing deadline for applications is: 24th February 2020 at 12.00noon.

* Salary equivalent to UPS3. Please see pack for more details.
