Job overview

We are looking for outstanding teachers of Religious Studies to join our schools with effect from 1 September 2021.

The Transformation of Secondary Education in Guernsey is currently ‘paused’ and is subject to a States Review of Secondary models. The Secondary Review is currently underway and a new model for secondary and Post 16 education will be decided by the States Assembly in the coming year.

Les Beaucamps, La Mare de Carteret,  St Sampson’s and the Grammar School and Sixth Form Centre are the four States’ secondary schools in Guernsey that have come together to form the Secondary School Partnership.  This partnership approach facilitates the continued development of the four schools and is led by a unified Executive Leadership Team. The Partnership also works in Federation with St Anne’s School in Alderney.

The successful candidates will be passionate about supporting and raising students’ individual achievements with innovative ideas to build on existing good practice, alongside being able to demonstrate excellence in teaching and learning. They will be part of a team who identify, support and enable personalised opportunities for students and deliver the new Bailiwick Curriculum including a range of international and UK qualifications. We expect our staff to make a full contribution to the ethos, identity and life of the school, offering a commitment to the broad range of enrichment activities that are available. The persons appointed will be committed to the role in the context of the Secondary School Partnership and the development of a new secondary school model.

If you are interested in a post at one or more of our schools, we would welcome an application from you. Further details on the transformation of secondary and post 16 education in Guernsey can be found here.

Further details about the Secondary School Partnership can be found here, where information about each of our schools can be accessed.
