Job overview

We are seeking a well-qualified and enthusiastic Teacher of Religious Studies to join our Religious Studies department full-time. The successful candidate will be expected to teach Religious Studies at GCSE and A Level.

The Religious Studies department consists of 5 members of staff. This is an excellent opportunity to join a strong, successful, and supportive department. All pupils at the School go on to take the AQA GCSE RS Short Course in Year 10, with the option to study the AQA full course in Year 11. 

A willingness to contribute to the School’s wide range of co-curricular activities is expected. The School uses 1-1 technology to enhance teaching and learning.

King Edward’s has its own generous salary scale as well as the Teachers’ Pension Scheme, Private Medical Insurance and Health Cash Plan and a reduction in school fees. There is also onsite accommodation available to rent at a subsidised rate for single occupancy.

King Edward VI School is a leading HMC Independent day school for children aged 11 – 18. King Edward’s is a school with a long and distinguished history and it has been at the heart of Southampton for over 460 years. The School has occupied 4 different sites, relocating to the purpose built site on Hill Lane in 1938. It became fully independent in 1979 and co-educational in 1994.
