Job overview

We are a hugely oversubscribed school, complimented by our recent outstanding OFSTED inspection on many aspects including our forward vision and academic excellence: “attitudes to learning and relationships between staff and students are exemplary”.

Required for September 2017 is a well-qualified and ambitious teacher to become part of our highly successful Religious Studies team.

This is a substantial part time post or full-time for an appropriate candidate who is able to teach a second subject.

Ability to teach RE up to A2 would be an advantage although this post would also suit a new entrant to the profession, for whom the school has a good record of support and development.

The working environment provides outstanding professional development opportunities.

A relocation support scheme may be available.

Please visit our website as it will help to give you a sense of our values, offers an insight into the vibrant activity that fills each week here, and will provide many of your answers, as you consider whether this is the right school for you to work in.

At Southend High School for Boys, talent is nurtured and learning is valued. Challenge is welcomed, participation is expected and achievement is prized. Pupils are happy, and prosper at the school.

As a grammar school, high academic expectations are central to our purpose, and these are sustained through an extensive programme of support and guidance. Pupils develop their confidence and enthusiasm through a wide range of creative, sporting and other endeavours.
