Teacher of Religious Studies

Main Pay Scale with a Possible TLR for a suitable candidate

September 2020 (an earlier start may be possible for an NQT)

As a teacher of RS at Denefield, you will join an experienced group of qualified teachers who work as a team with a friendly, sharing culture.  With opportunities to teach across all key stages, and career progression opportunities within and outside of the department, you will benefit from a programme of professional development aimed at helping you to develop your practice and your career. This opportunity will equally suit an experienced teacher of RS looking for their first position of responsibility or a newly qualified teacher looking for a supportive environment to begin their teaching career.

At Denefield we believe passionately that every young person should gain the qualifications and develop the character skills to have ‘Success for Life’.  To prepare them for this, we offer a rigorous and engaging curriculum with creative and practical subjects alongside traditional academic courses and all students work hard at developing the school’s nine CHARACTER values – confidence, happiness, articulacy, resilience, ambition, courage, tolerance, empathy and respect.

Staff wellbeing is a key priority at Denefield and we strive to foster a better work/life balance for our staff through a number of initiatives, including a cycle to work scheme, annual flu vaccinations and on-site yoga classes.  In addition, each training day ends with a wellbeing activity.  We know that happy teachers make for happy classrooms.

Are you an excellent teacher of RS who is able to inspire and challenge learners of all abilities?  Can you demonstrate a creative and imaginative approach to teaching and learning?  Do you like what you’ve read about Denefield so far?  If so, you might be just what we’re looking for.

For further details of the school, please visit us at www.denefield.org.uk.

Denefield School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. All successful candidates will be subject to Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks along with other relevant employment checks. CVs will not be accepted.

In our school we are committed to securing genuine equality of opportunity in all aspects of our activities as an employer and education provider.

Completed applications should reach us by 9am on Monday 20 April.

We reserve the right to appoint an outstanding applicant prior to this deadline.  For this reason, early applications are appreciated.
