St. Gregory’s Catholic High School is the highest performing school in Warrington for pupil progress measures and the most improved High School in the Liverpool Archdiocese.

We are looking to appoint an excellent teacher of Science due to the increase in pupil numbers and expansion.  At present there is a 0.5 requirement but there is strong potential for this to increase as the school grows in population.

The successful candidate would be working with an effective, dynamic team of subject specialists who strive to provide the best learning experience for pupils through high expectations, inspirational teaching and personalised support.  Achievement in the department is outstanding and GCSE results are significantly above the national average in all areas.

In Years 7 and 8 pupils follow a science curriculum that focuses on skills and content that will prepare them well for the demands of GCSE.  Year 9 pupils follow the GCSE curriculum, and Years 10 and 11 pupils study the ‘AQA Combined Science Trilogy’ course or opt for the 3 separate science subjects.

The department consists of 8 full time teachers of Science and 1 technician.  Science teaching take place in 8 large laboratories which are well resourced, 2 of which are specialist laboratories housed in our new STEM building.

This is an excellent opportunity for an outstanding and effective practitioner who has the desire to continue to raise standards across the department. The successful candidate will be passionate about Science and will be personally driven to ensure that every child achieves and makes good progress through challenge and engagement.
