We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and dynamic Teacher of Science to deliver high-quality lessons at all key stages. You will have a confident understanding of the curriculum and the ability to create new and exciting resources that challenge and inspire our students.
In 2017, the Science department achieved 67% A*- C in Additional Science and 86% A*- C in Further. We expect that our three-year GCSE programme will enable our current Year 11s to rise to the challenge of the new specifications. In the Sixth Form, we offer all three Science disciplines and these are increasingly popular. We use AQA as our exam board for all KS4 & 5 qualifications and have been deemed to be a centre of exceptional practice in regards to the deliverance of the required practicals. The department seeks a team player who wishes to take advantage of, as well as contribute to, its innovative approach to teaching and learning and professional support.
The Beacon School is currently rated ‘Good’ by Ofsted and is part of the thriving GLF Schools Multi-Academy Trust. We have academic express streams, a strong house system and enrichment activities. We offer extensive professional development opportunities and the school is an exciting, innovative place to work.
We proudly serve our local community and are currently oversubscribed with student applicants. We are conveniently located within easy reach of Sutton and south London, with excellent road networks. Further benefits include a two week October half term.
