About us

Doha College is a high-profile leading British International School, for children aged 3-18, offering a well-balanced, all-embracing curriculum that follows the UK National Curriculum. We are also the first High Performance Learning accredited school in the world. It is an exceptionally exciting time for the school as we recently opened our brand-new pioneering, 90,000m² state-of-the-art campus and marked our 40th year anniversary.

The opportunity

We are looking to appoint an experienced, dynamic and enthusiastic Science Teacher, specialising in teaching Biology to GCSE and A Level students, and KS3 Science, to start in September 2021. To be successful, you will be an outstanding role model within the Department and within the College as a whole. Candidates should have demonstrated success in their current role, be highly motivated and successful practitioners and above all else, have a real passion for the subject. Applicants should be willing to contribute in a positive manner to all aspects of the school vision, including extra-curricular activities.

Currently, the Science Department at Doha College consists of 18 full-time teachers supported by 3 full-time science technicians. Lessons are taught in 13 purpose-built laboratories. The College follows a balanced science programme at Key Stage 3, in line with the English National Curriculum. At Key Stage 4, students opt for Edexcel IGCSE Separate Sciences. At A Level, students opt for Edexcel Physics, Edexcel Chemistry and CIE Biology. At all stages the College achieves excellent academic success. Experience of teaching Physics A-Level will be seen as an advantage.

All our classrooms are equipped with interactive smartboards and displays, and all students are furnished with an iPad upon entry.

We are a British international school and all of our lessons are taught in English, therefore a high standard of written and spoken English is essential, along with a detailed knowledge of the UK National Curriculum.
