An exciting opportunity has arisen for a well-qualified and enthusiastic teacher to join our science team. We are keen to receive applications from:

·        Colleagues who wish to teach science to key stage 3 and 4 students only

·        Colleagues who wish to teach across the school (science to KS3/4 and your specialism to A Level)

·        Colleagues who wish to teach only A Level students in our highly selective Sixth Form (in either Biology, Chemistry or Physics).

The successful applicant will be a teacher with strong subject knowledge who is passionate about sharing this knowledge with young people. The position would suit a talented and ambitious early career stage teacher or a more experienced teacher looking to broaden their experience at an outstanding inner-city school. We have well established CPD programmes and offer an exciting career pathway for teachers who care passionately about transforming the life chances of the students they teach. A TLR allowance is available for a suitably experienced applicant.

You will be joining a team of staff who firmly believe that there are no limits to what our students can achieve. The science department is very well led and extremely well resourced. As a result, student outcomes at GCSE and A level are outstanding. The sciences are the most popular subjects at A level, with many students proceeding to study science-based degrees at elite Russell Group universities, including Oxbridge. Our average class size is 24 at key stages 3 and 4.

Graded ‘Outstanding’ in all categories by Ofsted in 2012 and 2018, Brampton Manor Academy is a dynamic 11-18 school comprising of nearly 3,000 highly motivated pupils. Although we are proud of the achievement of our students, we are not complacent about the challenges that lie ahead and are constantly seeking ways to further improve the quality of our provision to our young people because we know the transformative impact that a good quality education has on their life chances.

Brampton Manor Academy is a highly successful 11-18 mixed school and we serve a rich and culturally diverse community in East Ham, close to London City Airport and the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park situated in Stratford.

Brampton Manor converted to Academy status in April 2011 and formed a multi-academy trust called Brampton Manor Trust in 2013. In January 2014, Brampton Manor sponsored another local school, Langdon Academy (a 3-16 school), who joined our Trust in January 2014. There is strong collaborative working between our schools.
